My Journey: Shenzhen > Eureka > Santa Cruz > Santa Clara > Irvine

Experiences Shaped Who I Am Now

I'm a UI/UX Designer with a background in game design, currently working at Bitus Labs where I focus on end-to-end product experiences, including website design, user flows, and interaction systems. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a master's degree in Game Design, where I developed a strong foundation in user-centered design, interactive systems, and cross-platform experiences.

I once dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player, which led me to study in the U.S. at 16. However, language barriers and challenges fitting into the team made my basketball journey difficult, and I eventually gave up that dream after high school.

In college, I explored different paths and chose Game Design as it was the only field that interested me at the time. Although I wasn’t sure at first, I gradually discovered my passion through hands-on experience, especially in game design and UI/UX.

During my master’s program, I faced a steep learning curve and initially felt overwhelmed by the gap between myself and others. Realizing the challenges of pursuing game design roles, I shifted my focus to UI/UX design. Despite the difficulties, this decision helped me grow significantly and ultimately led me to successfully complete my degree and define my career direction.
